香港的路邊樹是充滿了機遇和挑戰，差不多每次有涉及傷亡的樹木意外發生的時候，路邊樹也是首當其衝。 導致香港成立樹木辦其中一個主要的誘因，是2008年赤柱倒樹殺人事件，而這棵樹也是路邊樹。
此外，香港在2004年左右，開始了一個所謂的 “古樹名木登記册”。 該名册的樹木是按照以下準則被挑選出來：
• 大樹
• 珍貴或稀有樹木品種
• 古樹（例如樹齡超過一百年）
• 具有文化、歷史或重要紀念意義的樹木；以及
• 樹形出衆的樹木
這類特殊樹木的數量大概在五百棵左右，而其擁有其他香港樹木少有的特別照顧，也擁有特殊的領空和領土權，可以說是香港樹木當中的 “特種部隊” 。
是次講座細說當年，從事實和現實角度出發，分析和討論這兩種樹木的護理要素，嘗試解讀它們在香港現存的機遇和挑戰。

CEU: 是次講座，CA/CTW/BCMA/MA/RCA 將會申請 2 個 CEU。 簽 CEU 者必須清楚填上自我牌照號碼在 CEU 簽到表上面，否則無效。

CAA is proud to provide our 34th session of Arboricultural education on local tree planting to benefit our interested members. This time is on the Roadside Trees and OVT in HK. The speaker is a highly qualified local Arborist Mr. Wicky Lee.

Anyone can sit anywhere available on a first come, first occupied basis. If all seats are taken, the attendant will stand, just like all of the CAA Staff, in the Seminar.
Penalty: Any person who has booked a seat but does not show up or inform us of the reason prior to the seminar, will not be allowed to attend the next session. A sign-in sheet will be kept by CAA to monitor attendance.
